According to the Oil and Gas Journal, the country of Libya is once again getting ready to allow foreign oil companies to enter its territory and hunt for natural gas.
In August 2007 According to the Oil and Gas Journal, the country of Libya announced it was ready to initiate bidding for Libya energy contracts, specifically 41 offshore sectors that could hold natural gas worth billions of United States dollars.
According to the Oil and Gas Journal, the country of Libya has several big oil companies from Canada, Norway, Britain, Thailand, Japan, India, Algeria and the United Arab Emirates interested in the bidding process, but as of yet there are no United States companies entering a bid in the latest round of bidding.
According to the Oil and Gas Journal, the country of Libya bidding from U.S. companies is not yet out of the question, though, as American companies have submitted bids and won contracts in previous rounds, according to oil industry analysts.
